Members of Saffron Walden Initiative recently visited the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences in Cambridge as one of their regular days out.
The group saw dinosaur skeletons, meteorites, rocks and minerals alongside thousands of fossils illustrating the evolution of life.

One of the highlights of the tour were rocks from Greenland, Australia, Canada and South Africa which are around 3,600 million years old - some of the oldest rocks in the world.
The museum started its collection in 1728 and now has more than a million specimens.
Saffron Walden Initiative, which celebrated its 20th anniversary last year, aims to develop community spirit, enhance the town's appearance, promote the town and provide activities for all ages and interests including talks, social events and visits.
