Cambridge Junction will continue to receive its grant of £587,418 per year during 2015/16 – 2017/18 to support its varied programme, which includes creative learning and outreach work as well as its acclaimed presentation programme of live music, theatre, dance, comedy and family events.

The arts venue is one of 670 organisations to receive funding through the scheme, and the only National Portfolio performing arts venue in Cambridge.

Daniel Brine, Cambridge Junction’s director, said: “This grant is a massive vote of confidence in Cambridge Junction. It acknowledges the important role we play bringing art, entertainment and creative learning to the people of Cambridge.

“We are very proud to be the only National Portfolio performing arts venue in Cambridge and look forward to continuing our vital role in the cultural life of Cambridge over the next three years.”

Christine Doddington, acting chair of Cambridge Junction’s board said: “Cambridge Junction is delighted with Arts Council England’s investment in our future.

“In challenging economic times, it’s important that our society continues to invest in arts and culture because of their strong contribution to community identity and quality of life.

“This grant is important investment in Cambridge and will provide economic and social benefits to our community, and help ensure that Cambridge Junction can thrive in the future.”

National Portfolio Organisations are one strand of ACE’s total investment in arts and culture during 2015/18, delivering the ambitions set out in Great art and culture for everyone, a 10-year strategic framework for the arts and culture.
