Saffron Walden County High’s headteacher says secondary schools in Essex are facing an “extremely bleak” financial outlook due to funding shortages.

The second annual Pride Day was held at Saffron Walden County High School on Friday, February 4 to promote awareness of the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

A dance show called Kaleidescope, on the theme of colours, at Saffron Hall by 350 Saffron Walden County High School students sold-out the venue for the second year running.

Youngsters from Dame Bradbury’s School in Saffron Walden spent an evening in a forest on Friday (February 3) making a bonfire, singing songs round it, playing games and learning about the stars.
