Residents are invited to a community picnic and family fun day on Saffron Walden common this weekend

The mayor of Saffron Walden has organised a community picnic featuring live music and a visit from the fire brigade.

Councillor Paul Fairhurst, recently elected mayor of Saffron Walden, is hosting the event to bring the community together.

There will be a programme of live music throughout the day and the bouncy castles, face painting and organised children’s games will all be free of charge.

Please bring your own picnic and there will be refreshments for sale on the day.

The Buffy Bus will be in attendance and the fire brigade will be bring along an engine. The mayor will also be running a teddy bear competition.

The free family fun day is taking place on Sunday July 8 on Saffron Walden Common from 11am to 5pm.

The event is being supported by Uttlesford District Council’s Ward Member’s Initiatives Grant, Saffron Walden Town Council, Saffron Walden Initiative and other community groups.
