Music in the Square a hit in Saffron Walden town centre despite the rain

The annual one-day festival called Music in the Square took place on Sunday, July 23 with bands and choirs entertaining the public at a free event with music from folk and choral to heavy rock.

Singer Matt Swainsbury joined the line-up which began with John Bassett the Rock n Roll Ukelele Man and continued with 20cVoc and included Saffron Building Society Community Choir, which these days is more community than building society, they welcome all singers.

In the evening the crowd enjoyed, Claudia and the Braidy Bunch with drummer Paul Richards, and the bands Parkside, Vogon Freeway and Shoot the Moon. The event is organised by Saffron Walden Town Team and attracted a lively crowd of all ages who applauded the acts appreciatively and got up and danced despite, despite the clouds and the rain.

The event is organised by Saffron Walden Town Team and sponsored by businesses in the town.
