PLANS to extend the popular One Minet Skate Park at Saffron Walden have been gathering pace since the scheme was presented to the town council last month.

The Saffron Walden Skate Group, who made the presentation, has just launched a brand new website at

Chairman Beverley Young said: “We have had such a show of support since the news broke that we have brought forward the launch of the website so people can read about our exciting plans.”

Those plans include the building of a youth/community hub at the site and an extension to the already world famous park.

“What we need now more than anything is for people to come forward and get involved,” stressed Mrs Young.

“We need lots of volunteers with a wide range of skills – anything from finance to film-making, purchasing to project management – to turn our plans into reality. Skate mates really.”
