Saffron Hall has made the shortlist for the Design through Innovation, Community Benefit, Tourism & Leisure categories in the prestigious awards scheme.

RICS announced its shortlist for the East of England Awards last week.

Seven category winners and a Project of the Year will be selected from the 37 shortlisted entries. And winners from the Building Conservation, Community Benefit, Design through Innovation and the Regeneration categories will then be invited to represent the region and compete against projects from across the rest of the UK, at the overall RICS Awards in London. The organisation is the leading qualification when it comes to professional standards in land, property and construction.

Judging is due to take place during the spring with an awards ceremony in St Albans in May.

Luay Al-Khatib, director RICS East, said: “The quality of entries received this year is truly outstanding and clearly demonstrates the fantastic work being carried out by property professionals.

“There is a wealth and variety of inspirational new projects and regenerated developments and I am sure it will be a challenging judging process.”

Finchingfield Guildhall, which re-opened in August after a seven-year, £1.8m regeneration project, is shortlisted for the Community Benefit and Building Conservation awards.

25-27 Church Street, Saffron Walden, is also shortlisted for the Building Conservation award.
