SAFFRON Screen and The BB Zeitlyn Psychotherapy Training Fund will come together to host a screening of the French film, I’ve Loved You So Long (12A), followed by a lecture by Trevor Jameson, a Jungian Analyst.

The event will be held at the cinema on Saturday (September 29) from 10.30am to 2.15pm.

Julie Kendall, Saffron Screen cinema director, said: “As is clear from the producers, directors and guest speakers we invite to present their work, Saffron Screen is committed to using film as an educational medium. To this end, we are pleased to be co-hosting this excellent film and welcoming Trevor Jameson to Saffron Screen.

“We look forward to hearing his insight and feel that this event promises to stimulate an interesting discussion about human behaviour and relationships after a time of separation.”

I’ve Loved You So Long is a French-language drama starring Kristin Scott Thomas. It tells the story of a woman struggling to interact with her family and find her place in society after spending 15 years in prison.

After the film, Mr Jameson will present a paper giving some consideration to one of the pivotal scenes in the film, and discuss this in relation to Caravaggio’s painting, The Incredulity of Thomas. The paper will also look at the psychological impact inherent in re-negotiating relationships after a period of absence.

Food and refreshments will be available.

Tickets prices are £12, available from the cinema box office, the Tourist Information Centre, or online at saffronscreen.com.
