Saffron Walden County High and Newport Free Grammar schools both closed because of flooding

Saffron Walden County High School closed because of adverse weather conditions and shortage of staff.

A statement on the school website added: “Students who have already arrived have been assembled in Saffron Hall and the Boatman Centre until they can return home safely.”

Newport Free Grammar School is alos closed today (Friday).
