SIXTH form students got the chance to trace the changing status of Christianity during a half-term break spent in Rome.

The 12-strong group from Friends’ School spent time in the Italian capital as part of their A-Level history and religious studies courses.

They were able to trace Christianity from persecution through its rise to State religion, and were also given the opportunity to compare the different historical arenas of the ‘Eternal City’, from traditional ruins to the EUR district.

Head of History, Charlotte O’Neil, said: “The trip to Rome provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to close their textbook and actually experience their subject, whether it was History, RS or Critical Thinking, in one of the most fascinating cities in the world.”
