The youngsters were invited to share their work at the Students’ National Art Exhibition and the Essex Schools Showcase.

This saw Year 9 pupil Gabi Salmon chosen to exhibit her Marilyn Monroe artwork at the London Mall Gallery – the third time a student from the school has been included in the exhibition after submitting work to the judging panel.

GCSE art and photography pupils were also selected to have their work included in the Essex Schools Arts Showcase at a shopping centre in Chelmsford.

Jade Whitehead, subject leader of art, design and technology, said: “These are fantastic opportunities for our students. The work submitted was of a very high standard.

“The Chelmsford showcase was an excellent way to exhibit GCSE artwork to the public. The comments from the public were all positive and encouraging of the concept of promoting students’ work in this way.”
