A HORSE riding team from Saffron Walden charmed the judges at the Christmas London International Horse Show with an impressive Harry Potter-themed display.

The Walden Witches, otherwise known as the Saffron Walden and District Riding Club, took fourth place in the British Riding Club's Quadrille Championship on Saturday December 20.

Team member Becky Markillie said: "We are all delighted with the result, especially as this is the first time that myself and Sal have entered the event.

"The choreography for our display 'Double Trouble' was put together by Claire and Suzannah. All our costumes were handmade and have more than 10,000 sequins sown on to them."

More than 100 people from Saffron Walden travelled to London's Olympia to show their support.
