Make sure you catch a few extra winks this weekend as the start of British Summer Time means we all lose an hour in bed.

Clocks will spring forward an hour at 1am on Sunday, March 30, 2014, when BST starts and the country moves out of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

This means losing an hour of sleep in the morning.

British Summer Time (BST) traditionally starts on the last Sunday in March and ends on the final Sunday in October.

Clocks go back to 1am on Sunday, October 26, 2014 as British Summer Times ends.

As a result of the change, there will be more daylight in the evenings and less in the mornings.

And when do the clocks go forward and back in 2015?

The daylight saving time dates for next year are March 29 and October 25.
