I REFER to your correspondent Geoff Riley, who wrote about Uttlesford District Council's investment policy and in more general terms about the financial situation at the council.

I have invited Mr Riley to meet with senior council officers to discuss his concerns, when he will be appraised of the financial situation over the first year of a new administration and where we are now.

Mr Riley will be able to ask any questions he likes, which will be answered by the council officers without any political bias.
