Peasgood, who races in the Paratriathlon T4 category, which includes athletes with either below knee or below elbow impairments, was pipped to the finish line by Dave Hill and Chris Frost, pictured.

The race started with a 750m swim in the docks, with a water temperature of 19.5’C.

Peasgood had an excellent swim, exiting the water in second place overall, in a time of 10 minutes 33 seconds.

With an indoor transition area, the athletes then headed off on the 25km bike route, which consisted two-lap course around the streets of Liverpool. The rain and tight technical turns, made the course challenging. He completed the bike leg in 32:14.

The race was completed with a 5km run around the streets of the water front of Liverpool. He finished the section in 21:32 to record an overall time of 1.10:03, good for third place.

Peasgood’s brother Jack was also competing, as a guide for Iain Dawson, a visually impaired athlete in Paratriathlon T5 category. The pair posted the fastest tandem bike split of the day but finished just outside the medals in fourth place.
