There were PBs for Ian Baines, Lesley Burpitt and Simon Burpitt at the Mablethorpe Marathon

A FLAT course and good conditions led to personal best times for three runners from Grange Farm and Dunmow Runners (GFDR) at the Mablethorpe Marathon and Half-Marathon.
The marathon course comprised two laps along country roads through Trusthorpe, Thorpe and Sutton on Sea, before finishing on Mablethorpe promenade.
The marathon was won by Stephen Earley of Bedford and County Athletic Club in 2 hours 43 minutes.
Fastest for GFDR, amongst the 248 finishers, was David Andrews in 3hr 39min taking 75th position.
Geoff Maidment was 82nd in 3hr 43min, followed by Simon Burpitt in a PB of 3hr 50min and Ian Baines in 3hr 58mins, also a personal best.
The half-marathon attracted a larger field, with 387 finishers. The winner was Peter Cusick of Chippenham Harriers in 1hr 18min.
Representing GFDR, Lesley Burpitt achieved a PB time of 1hr 54min.
