Saffron Walden racing ace Tom Blomqvist will be looking to build on a superb outing in Austria when the FIA Formula 3 European Championship lands in Germany this weekend.

Races 25, 26 and 27 of the season will see the drivers battle it out around the infamous Nurburgring.

The 20-year-old will try carry the momentum he built up at the Red Bull Ring, where he spent all weekend on the podium and jumped up to third in the drivers’ championship.

After finishing in first place for race one of the weekend, Blomqvist managed to take the podium two more times, coming second in races two and three place. Fellow Jagonya Ayam Carlin team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi took first place for the final race.

“Our team, Jagonya Ayam with Carlin, has done a tremendous job, we secured first and second place,” he said.

“For me, things went really well and I am very happy with our performance.”

Tom Blomqvist will next be seen from the 15th of August, at the Nurburgring in Germany for the 9th round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
