Great Chesterford Bowls Club has maintained good form in the Cambs & District League, holding on to top spot in Division 2 after seven wins from the first nine games.

Last week saw an excellent 5-2 win against Chesterton A. The Meldreth & District team also secured a win by the same margin against another Chesterton team. Unfortunately that team lost 6-1 at home to a very strong Bassingbourn.

In the Business House League the mixed pairs won 4-2 at Comberton but the men’s pairs lost 6-0 at Post Office.

Meanwhile, Haverhill won the Bruce Elliott Memorial Gala Shield at Great Chesterford on Sunday, June 22. Great Chesterford Bowls Club wishes to express thanks to sponsors for the event: Jonathan & Molly Schoop, HSA Accountants, Alun Design Consultancy and Hookway Builders, and to Springwell Nursery, Merlin Mica Hardware and Scotsdales for donating raffle prizes.
