BARNSTON boss Lee Elliston slammed his players calling them “ignorant and arrogant” following the biggest defeat of his managerial career.
Drawing 0-0 at half time, Tollesbury took Barnston to the slaughter in the second period, smashing six goals past Ian Stanley to all but end the visitor’s season.
Elliston told the Broadcast: “I am exasperated with the group as a whole and with certain individuals.
“I have too many players that seem to live in a bubble of ignorance and arrogance but they will have the bubble burst in coming weeks because I have had enough of putting faith into players which just aren’t good enough to take the club forward and don’t want to buy into what I am trying to do.
“Our season is done and dusted so its about finishing as well and as high as possible and building for pre-season, dropping a few passengers on the way and leaving myself with a core to build around next season.”
Elliston added his side were “awful” and “got what they deserved” but reserved praise for goalkeeper Stanley and full back Connor Ivie who, he said, could walk away from the game with any credit.
