SAFFRON Walden Town Reserves came from two goals down to earn a creditable 2-2 draw against unbeaten Walsham-le-Willows on Saturday.
The Bloods, who were missing four key players, played the better football in the opening 20 minutes but were unable to take advantage of their early superiority.
Two defensive errors from a makeshift defence enabled Lewis Cooke to score two goals for Walsham in the 25th and 40th minute, as the visitors finished the half the stronger.
With 30 minutes to go Jo Anderson pulled a goal back back for Walden with a placed shot from 15 yards.
The Bloods then gambled by putting on an extra attacker, leaving themselves exposed at at the back on a few occasions, but the move paid off in the 81st minute when Anderson set up Max Drane to score from close range, to complete an excellent fight back.
This coming Saturday Walden Reserves travel to Wivenhoe, who are just above them in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve league.
