TAKELEY FC boss Steve Castle has been buoyed by the news that top scorer Greig Taylor has turned down an approach by Ryman League Division One North side Harlow Town in favour of staying at Station Road.

“I talked to Greig about it and he wasn’t interested,” said Castle.

“I think that is a great testament to our football club, and the way it is being run, that he didn’t want to know how much money he may have been offered, he was only interested in playing for Takeley.

“Greig is a top-class lad and hopefully his goals will help us in our promotion push this season.”

Takeley welcome Stansted to Station Road this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
