IN a close game played out between two evenly matched sides, an own goal was enough as Crocus earned their ninth consecutive league victory.
Both teams tried to play passing football on a heavy pitch, and both had good chances to score.
Adam Daniels and Matt Hall were unfortunate to flash efforts just wide of the Kedington goal, while a superb save from point blank range by goalkeeper Scott Smith and a last ditch goal line clearance by captain Stuart Sheperd ensured the score remained goalless at half time.
Crocus scored the only goal of the game after the interval when some neat football in the Kedington half created an opportunity for Dan Walker. His powerful shot was well saved by the visiting keeper, but he could only parry it against one of his defenders and into his own goal.
Kedington pushed hard to equalise and had an effort deflected onto the post but Crocus held on to maintain their promotion push.
Next up, Crocus travel to Linton Granta A on Saturday
