Jack Rayner, a 3-handicapper and the club junior captain last year, came home first with a solid 7 & 6 victory to give Gosfield a good start.

This year’s junior captain Mitchell Edey backed up with a hard fought win achieved on the 22nd hole, and the junior vice-captain Joe Maynard played well for a 3–2 win.

The strong tail end of the Gosfield team again proved their metal when Max Barker and Louis Brown both won 2 & 1.

The team will have a third round Essex Youth Shield match away to Frinton Golf Club juniors on June 9. With Nathan Hope, Max Maynard and Josh Arbon (not shown in photo) Gosfield has strong reserves to call on if required.
