The scratch team under Goodman’s leadership have been in exceptional form this year after being relegated in 2012.
They won the prestigious Goddard Cup, CAGU’s premier club competition, by beating Ramsey in the final 12-0. It was the first time that Walden have won the competition in the history of the club.
They also got promoted back to the top division in record-breaking fashion, winnng the league by 10 points and only conceding seven holes against all year.
As well as the team, Cam Brown has had a magnificent year representing Cambridgeshire, was a winning member of the eastern counties foursome team, CAGU A and B who won the Anglia league.
Goodman said: “This trophy haul reflected a tremendous year for us. I would like to say a huge thank you to club captain Andrew Fisher and his team for supporting us this year and believing that we could deliver the goods for the club.
“At Walden we have now a number of talented golfers in Mark Reeve, Olly Tuck, Richard Southall, Tom Duggan, Cam Brown and Rob Booth.
“This team can really move on to even greater achievements. Our goal next year has to be to win back the Division 1 we last won in 2007 and retain the Goddard Cup.
“We also have a number of talented youngsters coming through in Stuart Hall, Callum Brookes, Charles Parmentier and Charlie Duke that can make the team even stronger and hopefully at least one of these can break through into the team next year.”
