The Felsted under-16 boys’ hockey team were crowned Essex champions last week.

The tournament took the form of a simple round robin and the Felsed team cruised to the victory, with heavy wins over Forest (10-0), Bancrofts and Chigwell (both 4-1).

Alex Jackson and George Hitchcock were in particularly fine scoring form throughout the day.

Head of boys hockey, Nick Phillips, was delighted with the team’s efforts.

“The boys played some impressive, free-flowing hockey, but I am particularly pleased with the teamwork, behaviour and spirit they demonstrated throughout the day,” he said.

The team will now compete in the east section of the competition on March 4 at Bedford.
