Saffron Walden & Newport Junior Netball Club (SWANs) had plenty to celebrate in the Cambridge & District League during the 2017/18 season.

Competing across three divisions, SWANs teams came out on top of the Under-14 A and B Division, while also claiming runners-up spots in the Under-14 B and Under-12 division, missing out by just three points.

The competition was played over 13 weeks from April and each team played seven matches – the under-12s played eight – which proved to be competitive contests against clubs including Royston, Milton, Cambourne, St Ives, Cottenham and Comberton.

The teams now have a well-earned rest until the new season starts in September.

SWANs have more than 125 junior members aged eight to 16, three senior teams and run Walking Netball and Back To Netball training sessions for adults. For information email
