Saffron Walden under-15 celebrate their cup triumph

Saffron Walden under-15s lifted the county cup after beating Wisbech at Henham on Sunday.

Bitterly cold conditions greeted both clubs and nerves showed early on, with a few silly penalties conceded.

But Walden defended well and regained composure, working the ball through several phases and breaking up the Wisbech defence to score three first-half tries.

Ryan Curtis, Hugo Carey and Harry Vincent-West all scored to put Walden on top and a strong start to the second half saw Carey go over.

Walden scored the try of the match when a few quick drives were followed by the ball being moved wide for full back Morgan Evans to finish off a very cultured team try.

And although Wisbech claimed a consolation try, there was no denying the hosts the silverware after a controlled and intelligent performance.
