There will be plenty of fun for all the family when Walden Ladies host an open day this Sunday.

The event, from 11am-3pm at the Sports Pavilion, Hopfields, off Peaslands Road, will include two football matches and is designed to attract new players to the burgeoning club.

At 1pm, Walden Ladies will take on an Essex All Stars side, but prior to that Plantation & Spartak Girls will play Haverhill Rovers at 11am.

There will also be tug of war, beat the goalie, a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon modelling, a skills session and more.

Walden Ladies’ new pavilion will also be officially unveiled.

Mick Eldred, who has been manager and coach at the club for more than seven years, said: “We really want to get a great turnout and help spread the word about Walden Ladies. The hope is we can encourage more girls to get involved and continue to grow a club which is going from strength to strength.”
