Cambridgeshire seniors had a big win over Warwickshire at Saffron Walden Golf Club

Saffron Walden Golf Club played host to a seniors county match between Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire last week.

The morning foursomes finished all square at 3-3. with Keith Moore and Bill Rusted playing solid golf to win their match.

Andrew Petrie and Bob Setchell were also successful, while Graham Goodman and John Yuill halved their match, as did Peter Laughlin and Graham Locke.

It was one-way traffic in the afternoon fourballs as Cambs won all 12 points on offer to run out 15-3 winners overall.

Moore and Rusted wore their rivals down with par golf in a 4&3 win, while captain Goodman and Yuill had a 3&2 victory.

Performance of the day was from Ian Robinson who was five under par with partner Kevin Hayes in a 6&5 win, as Petrie and Setchell won one up.

Laughlin and Locke won 4&2, as Gerald O’Keane and Graham Clarke won 6&4.
