Trophies won in the heat by Striders

Despite the heat, Saffron Striders picked up several trophies on Sunday in two locations.

In Suffolk Tim McMahon was first at the Haverhill 10k with a winning time of 41:34, while Matt Billis was third male with wife Sarah Billis first female.

Tony Bacon won the 5k event. They were presented with awards by the town mayor David Roach.

In Stansted Bryn Reynalds won the village 10k event in 37 minutes, winning by two clear minutes, while Fiona Halls was second lady in 44 minutes and Janet Lipski in third.

There were also great performances on the day from Neil Halls, Tony Kelly and Robert Addison.
