Saffron Walden’s Andy White finished in ninth place at the 2018 World final of the Audi Quattro Cup in Austria.

The tournament brought teams from 43 countries together at the Kitzbuhel Schwarzsee-Reith club, which enjoys stunning panoramic views of the Alps.

And White and partner Tom Skinner, from Flitwick, finished with an impressive haul of 158 points to secure their top-10 spot.

White said: “It was so exciting to play in such a stunning location in the Austrian Alps.

“The course was different to anywhere I’ve ever played. It was a challenge adjusting to the conditions but we practiced hard and were delighted to make the top 10.”

Jane Brown, sponsorship and events manager of Audi UK, added: “We’re very proud of the performances of our UK players. It’s a major feat to make it as far as the World final so to perform as admirably as they did is to their immense credit.”
