Saffron Walden sprinter Laura Sugar broke the national record in the T43/44 100m ar the Sainsbury’s Grand Prix Final.

Her time of 13.55secs earned her a second bronze medal in the space of two weeks after her third-placed finish in the T44 100m at the IPC European Championships in Swansea.

Speaking after the race, she said: “It was really good – my legs are obviously very tired after the Europeans last week and I just wanted to give it my all today.

“To get a massive PB and a national record after getting a PB in Swansea has been amazing. It’s been pretty much a spot on week.

“It’s been hard after having painful massages this week but I’d just like to thank the British Athletics medical team for holding me together.”
