PLANTATION U11’s edged out local rivals Spartak 4-2 on penalties to clinch a hard-earned tournament win at Herberts Farm on Saturday.

They won four of their first five group games to qualify for the semi-finals with a game to spare, skipper Harry Cook scoring three match-winning goals, and further strikes from Evan Conboy and Bradley Jones.

In the semi-final a Toby Salmon corner was headed home by Harry Dorrian to beat Coton and set up the final against Spartak.

With both teams tiring as they played their eighth game of the day, the final was a game of few chances for either side and extra time failed to find a winner.

Well-struck penalties by Salmon, Conboy and Liam Hughes left Jones to clinch the trophy as he confidently fired into the corner of the net.

The other team members, who all played a part, were Harris Bremner-Lambourn, Oskar Pluck, Luc Roux and Anton Thomas.
