There will be a fun Easter Trail at Easton Lodge to keep younger visitors happy on Easter Sunday. And with free entry to the gardens for children and only £1 to do the trail, parents will be smiling too.

Families can explore the gardens, finding the eggs and collecting clues and then return to claim their reward from the Easter Grotto. There will also be nature and craft activities for younger visitors and there is plenty of space to run around.

The first open day of the season is on Sunday from 11.30am–5pm (last admission at 4pm) with tickets costing £3.50 for adults and children entering free.

The very popular guided tours will take place at 1pm and 3pm and dog lovers are reminded that their pets are most welcome on leads.

A volunteer team will be manning the gates and serving homemade soup, bacon rolls, sausage baps, hot and cold drinks and cakes from the newly refurbished ‘Daisy’s’ tea pavilion.

There will be craft stalls on the croquet lawn selling a wide variety of lovely and useful things and beautiful plants to buy to enhance any garden.

Trustee Gwen Blackhaw said: “A huge amount of work has been done over the closed season and even since the snowdrop open days and visitors will notice the changes.

“We hope to see lots of families in the gardens this weekend as we know they will have a wonderful time and once they have discovered the magic of this special place they will want to keep coming.”

Anyone interested in joining the volunteer team for these and subsequent open days or to help with regular gardening sessions will be most welcome and should email enquiries@eastonlodge.co.uk or leave a message on 01371 876979.

Further information about the openings is also available from these sources as well as on the website at eastonlodge.co.uk.
