ARTWORK by over 30 local artists will go on display in an exhibition at Friends’ Junior School Hall this weekend.
The exhibition will include framed and unframed paintings, prints, ceramics, sculpture and jewellery. There will also be free art activities for children aged five to 12 years on offer and a café offering coffee and homemade cakes.
Jude Hannam, chairman of Friends’ School Art on the Hill committee, said: “We are very excited to bring this new event to the town and provide a show for our incredibly talented local artists in which to showcase their work. We would also like to acknowledge the generosity of our sponsors, Saffron Insurance, Holroyd Components, Sworders Auctioneers and Kevin Henry.”
The exhibition is open to the public this weekend, March 9 from 12-4pm and March 10 from 12-5pm. Entry is £4 for adults, £2 concessions (free for children up to 18) and tickets are available on the door or in advance from Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre.
In addition, ticket holders for the Words in Walden talk by Timothy Brittain-Catlin on Sunday afternoon will have free entry to the exhibition.
