The musicians include Penny Manser, a professional opera singer who trained with English National Opera and was brought up in Debden, and James Davey, who is one of the UK’s most distinguished and respected young choral directors, in demand for his work as conductor, choir trainer, choral education practitioner, arranger and adjudicator.

Members of the Military Wives Choir from Wimbish will be singing some of their favourite pieces. The Semplice choir from Saffron Walden and the Debden Church Choir will perform.

Theo Bossi-Caplin, who grew up in the village, will play the guitar and accompany vocalist Onur Erdogan. The concert will also welcome Alan Mclean on the piano and Olivia Doust, who will be singing folk songs. The Wimbish Recorders Group will play Elizabethan dances.

Doors open at 7pm, when wine and light refreshments will be available. The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets at the door are £12. Parking is available adjacent to Debden Parish Church. All funds raised will help maintain Debden Church, a grade one listed building. For more information contact Tony Vernon on 01371 830801.
