OLLY Murs has announced he is to return to his home stomping ground in June to perform an outdoor summer concert in front of an expected 10,000 fans at Chelmsford’s Hylands Park.
The Essex-born singer-songwriter’s debut album reached number 2 in the UK Album Chart upon release in November 2010, and secured two Top Five places in the UK Singles Chart.
His second album, which saw him progress from his distinctive sound towards a more modern interpretation of old-school, classic soul and rock ‘n’ roll, peaked at number 2 in November last year.
Commenting on the announcement, concert spokesperson Dion Clements said “Following last summer’s massively successful outdoor concert featuring Olly at Hylands Park, we thought it only right to bring him back to his home turf to perform for possibly his most loyal and supportive fans. We will also be announcing, in due course, some really exciting artists who will be performing in support of Olly at this concert”.
The concert will take place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, on 16 June. For more information, or to book tickets for the event, visit nationalboxoffice.co.uk, or call 0871 224 1112 / 1113. Tickets are on sale from January 27, at 9am
