Royal Rumble-style wrestling event returns to Takeley

IT may not be the Royal Rumble but number 1 contenders for championship belts will be decided at the Silver Jubilee Hall in Takeley next Saturday night (February 9) when Herts and Essex Wrestling (HEW) returns home.

An eight-man knock-out tournament will be the main event at the New Year Showdown, while a bonus match for the HEW Women’s Championship has also been added. Doors open at 6.30pm ahead of belltime at 7.30pm.

The night will act as a warm-up, not for Wrestlemania, but for the celebration of HEW’s ninth birthday on Friday March 22, also at the birthplace of the first show in the Silver Jubilee Hall.

It will feature a blockbuster main event with HEW Champion Aron Frost defending his title against former ECW Champion, The King Of Old School, Steve Corino.
