POPULAR panto Alice in Wonderland will be coming to Newport next month as the village’s amateur theatrical society puts on its latest production.

Join Alice and her mother as they wander into Muddle Up Wood and into a world of adventure featuring the mad-cap antics of the Cheshire Cat, White Rabbit, Caterpillar and the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

There will be four performances of the Newport Amateur Theatrical Society panto from February 8-10 in Newport Village Hall. The first, at 7.30pm, will take place on the Friday, with two shows – at 1.30pm and 7.30pm – on the Saturday and another 1.30pm performance on the Sunday.

Tickets are £7 for adults and £5.50 for concessions. A family ticket, for two adults and three children, is available for £28. They can be bought from Newport Post Office, Newport Stores and Saffron Walden Tourist Information Centre. Refreshments are also available.
