A SOARING aerial spectacle will be seen above Duxford airfield next weekend (September 8 and 9) when the pinnacle of the Imperial War Museum’s flying calendar takes off in style.

Featuring a huge selection of historic and modern aircraft – civilian and military – The Duxford Air Show on the weekend of September 8 and 9 always showcases a distinctive and popular array of flying performances.

Displays will include the Red Arrows on the Sunday and the BAe Systems Hawk the day before. The Aerostars will also be performing stunning aerobatics on the Saturday.

A pair of Tornado GR4s in the 30th anniversary year of the Tornado entering RAF service, while making only its second air show appearance is The Fighter Collection’s P-47 Thunderbolt Snafu. Also performing thrilling displays are the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota, B-17 Flying Fortress Sally B and three Spitfires.

If you buy tickets in advance IWM is offering a 10 per cent discount and a free child ticket, available with every adult or senior ticket purchased. However, this offer is on advance ticket purchases only – it cannot be used on the day of the event.
