A home furniture shop in Saffron Walden has collaborated with Audley End Miniature Railway to create a festive paper installation.

The installation at Angela Reed in Market Hill is inspired by the poem 'A Visit from St Nicholas' - known for its first line: ''Twas the night before Christmas'.

Emma Banks, from Audley End Miniature Railway (AEMR), said: "We were so delighted to collaborate with Angela Reed this year.

"Angela Reed is such a long-standing business in the town and we were looking at ways to work together in a really special way and this seemed like the perfect fit.

"Working together on the window display has been such a pleasure and we hope that locals and tourists alike will love the window as much as we do."

The display represents the love children have for Christmas Eve, and the anticipation of a visit from Father Christmas.

Kate Reed, of Angela Reed, said: "We couldn't think of a better collaborative partner for our window.

"Christmas is such a magical time and we are always looking a new ways to bring excitement to the town with our Christmas window - and we were so pleased when AEMR agreed to work with us on this.

"We visit AEMR every year at Christmas with our children.

"It is just so magical and the idea of having Father Christmas drive a train with presents and gifts from our shop was such an exciting idea.

"We were also delighted to work with Helen Musselwhite on the installation. She has captured the town so perfectly.

"You need to spend some time having a really good look at the window to see all of the beautiful, intricate details of the town, from the Sun Inn to St Mary’s Church"

Angela Reed and Audley End Miniature Railway will also be running a competition for the best photo taken of the window.

Photos should be shared on Instagram tagging both @angelareedshop and @audleyendminiaturerailway.

The winner will receive four tickets for a Woodland Adventure day or the AEMR summer event, and a £100 Angela Reed voucher.

Entries close at midnight on December 9.
