MAY I make a correction to George Hannah's otherwise excellent letter on wind farms (June 19)?
In advocating a re-examination of the Linton wind farm proposal he reminded readers that we had, through your pages, offered to take interested parties to visit the successful wind farm near Swaffham and experience the turbines' appearance and noise levels.
We did have a number of volunteers and took a party to Swaffham last January. Opposition was considerable before the turbines were erected, but, the council has had no further complaints during the first year of operation.
We have made a short slide presentation of the site with some noise recordings if anyone is interested. The proposed Linton wind farm is very similar and the turbines would be of a similar size.
