I would like to correct the impression given by Mrs A Bedingham in her letter headed "Polyclinic cash" in your June 26 edition.
She writes to say that the application made to the PCT for a dispensing contract in Newport appears to be backed by Boots and that she supposes big business talks.
From the limited knowledge I have of this application, I understand it was made by a small independent contractor and has no connection with Boots UK Ltd.
The new contractor will, of course, be a new competitor for Boots The Chemist in Saffron Walden.
