Vehicle speeds are one issue but the other problem is drivers overtaking at speed and leaving it to the last minute to observe the single-lane carriageway in an effort to overtake just one more vehicle. Roads are not dangerous, just some of the people who use them are.
On a related matter I do object to the sub headline "The whole of Linton was gripped by fear when we heard the sirens".
Perhaps during the war this headline would have been appropriate!
