That same week I lost control on an easy bend a few miles west of Wendens Ambo. I was not driving fast and it was a mild sunny day.
The car ended up in a hedge after an unrecoverable slide. On getting out, my wife and I noticed that, in addition to a little mud on the road, the road surface itself was very polished and slippery.
Are the minor roads around Saffron Walden becoming neglected and not being resurfaced when they get dangerously slippery?
