WHILE in principle, most agree with the concept of recycling, the way things have been arranged suggests a knee jerk reaction to an EU directive, raising questions as to the super sovereignty of the EU.
How much waste has been subject to recycling and at what cost. The suspicion is that this is a very expensive business with dubious advantages.
Whoever, on a national basis, dreamed up this scheme and the way that it operates is very much at fault having not thought the thing through properly.
Local councils will soon be held to account for this providing a shield for those higher up the tree who have the real responsibility to hide behind and avoid taking responsibility.
