I HAVE always been against the introduction of the wheelie bins as unsightly and unnecessary. But I have reconciled myself to being open minded.
I examined the contents of my kitchen bin to see what I would have to do with the categories of waste and I was very confused.
I don't believe many people will adhere to the new regime and asked the council what would happen if we transgressed. I was told the council could refuse to empty the bins and although prosecution is not the current policy it cannot be ruled out in future.
I remain sceptical about the environmental benefits.
