I am writing on behalf of the Rotary Club of Saffron Walden to sincerely thank all of those who contributed to our Christmas collection.
Thanks to the generosity of your readers the collection has raised in excess of £4500 and, with further donations being made since the collection, the final figure should reach £5000 - a tremendous achievement!
The collection will be distributed to a diverse range of local charities in addition to our lead charity, which this year is Crossroads and in particular its efforts to initiate a special fund for all young carers in and around Saffron Walden.
I am extremely grateful to all the many people whose generous contributions have ensured that the hard work and devotion of this silent army of young people is recognised and praised.
Gavin Clarson
President of the Rotary
