THE treatment of residents living near Stansted Airport has bordered on evil.
One hears of those whose lives have been made a misery by worry over blight and whether to sell to these modern robber barons to satisfy some insane, transitory obsession with flying and the creation of everlasting car parks.
Time and again they witness the wicked, deliberate neglect of formerly cherished homes.
In one sad case an owner receives a compulsory purchase order to leave in two days or risk being charged with trespass, enclosing a cheque for a certain amount.
Nothing justifies this callous and short-sighted treatment, all made worse by the knowledge that such proposed developments are not in the future national or international interest.
