I WOULD like to respond to your coverage of the "rave" at Great Chesterford and in particular to comments made in your article of September 7 and letter of September 14 from M Watson and P Beattie.

While noting their criticism of the police action it seems to me these people are saying and concluding that it is completely acceptable to trespass and organise "unregulated" and "unsociable" events on other people's private property.

These events cause disruption, distress and noise nuisance to local people and some of us locals completely welcomed the police action. Let us hope it deters other events in the area.

I'm confident that if Messrs Tuxworth, Watson and Beattie (the critics of the police action in your article and letters) woke up one morning to find that I'd organised a party in their back gardens then maybe they too would be asking the police to intervene.
